Darfur

I believe the rowandan government is responsible for most of the problems in Darfur.
Why should the United States have to be the country that has to help save everyone? The genocide in Darfur, a region in Sudan, has been happening since 2003 and not much attention or effort has been put on the crisis. It has been stated that the Arabs in Darfur think that they are the only good race and are murdering everyone else. The United States is the main leader in giving the Darfurians the aid and support they need. Although the United States has not yet given military aid many Americans are in favor of doing so. Yet there are others who oppose this issue and think that America should stop trying to save everyone and worry about our own problems. The United States should not give aid or military support to help stop the crisis in Darfur. The United States should help aid in the genocide in Darfur, because it is inhumane for many innocent people to be murdered. Over two hundred thousand Darfurians have been killed and more than two million have been displaced. People should not be murdered just because of their race or what they look like. “The reason the United States must act to stop the genocide is because, as Martin Luther King said, “Man’s inhumanity to man is not only perpetuated by the vitriolic action of those who are bad, it is also perpetuated by the vitiating inaction of those who are good.(Allott)” When the Nazi’s were killing the Jews we did not just let them keep going on a mass killing spree. America made it their goal to stop the Nazi’s from murdering any more Jewish people. This is the only reason that American should get involved in the crisis in Darfur. The United States already has a full plate to handle and does not need any extra problems. America does not need to aid in the crisis in Darfur because we need to start worrying about our own problems instead of other countries issues. The United States has an enormous homeless population that our country should be more focused on. Although they should be helped I believe neighboring countries should also help.

Restraunt Review

I have been going to Sarovars for several years and I have seen it go through at least three remodling phases and it looks like they are at it again from my last visit. Now on to the food, I highly recommend the Spicy Spinach Chicken with Garlic nann as well as the Spicy Rogan Josh and the Chicken Briyani...Delicious!!! I have to agree with some of the other reviews about poor service because the past few times I have went we have had to wait along time for drink orders and refills. No one ever comes and checks on us to see if we are doing alright and when a drink is refilled it is usually by one of the bus boys and not the waitor/waitress. After all the remodling they have done the place still looks like it is in need of something and going to the restroom always reminds me of some underground back ally passageway to get there. However this being said I recently have been treated very rude by the staff ,they are just not very attentive and the food has always been consistantly good so if you do not mind waiting I am sure you will be pleased with your meal. Although most of the employees are incontempt/Lazy their food is simply the best in Austin,TX. I have been to many restraunts in Austin, never have I had such quality food other than Sarovar. I believe part of the problem with them is that they hire people who know nothing about indian food. Sometimes thay really drop the ball and forget stuff with your food. Overall I would get them 3 Stars. The only thing they need to do is Have a better location in Westlake instead of having it on Anderson Lane and it would be 5 stars.

China one child policy

China’s One child policy was to limit the population growth of the world largest country. I believe this is somewhat a good idea because it won’t increase the population growth of a country that is already crowded. When this went effect in 2000 the population growth was set at a limit of 1.2 Billion. This policy somewhat prevented 250-300 Million Births. The advantages is that there will be less crowded in china. The standard of living will increase. The disadvantages are that some will leave the country in order to get a better life and have more children. The one child family policy was developed and implemented in response to concerns about the social and economic consequences of continued rapid population growth. Implementation was more successful in urban areas than rural areas .Social and economic reforms have made rigorous implementation of the policy more difficult .The main criticism of the policy is its stimulus to discrimination against females, who may be aborted, abandoned, or unregistered. The policy has eased some of the pressures of rapid population increase on communities, reducing the population by at least 250 million. There is also an issue about sex discrimination where parent’s only want son’s. It is causing problems in china where the ratio of son’s to daughter’s are 193-100. I believe by lifting this policy to 2 children per family the ration will be much closer. I believe this is necessary in the future to prevent the shortage of girls in china during the 1970s, China began encouraging delayed marriages, longer intervals between births and fewer children. "The total fertility rate - the number of children a woman is expected to have in her lifetime - was reduced from over five to slightly over two," Prof Wang says. All this happened before the current family planning policy was introduced in 1979.

~Favorite Music- Country!~

FAVORITE TYPE OF MUSIC-

My favorite type of Music is country. Overall this is my favorite type of music. I first began to like country music when I watched American Idol in 2006 when Carrie Underwood .Although she was not on American Idol Taylor Swift became one of the most successful if not the most successful musician today. She is my favorite Musician because I like her songs. I believe she revolutionized the Music industry and she changed her whole life just by her talent of singing well. Country Music began in the 1920’s with people like Fiddlin' John Carson recorded "Little Log Cabin in the Lane" for Okeh Records. Vernon Dalhart was the first country singer to have a nationwide hit in May 1924 with "Wreck of the Old '97." The flip side of the record was "Lonesome Road Blues," which also became very popular In April 1924, "Aunt" Samantha Bumgarner and Eva Davis became the first female musicians to record and release country songs. Many "hillbilly" musicians, such as Cliff Carlisle, recorded blues songs throughout the decade and into the 30s. Other important early recording artists were Riley Puckett, Don Richardson, Fiddlin' John Carson, Al Hopkins, Ernest V. Stoneman, Charlie Poole and the North Carolina Ramblers and The Skillet Lickers. The steel guitar entered country music as early as 1922, when Jimmie Tarlton met famed Hawaiian guitarist Frank Ferera on the West Coast. Country music was not popular in the 1950’s-1960’s. During the 1990s, country artist Garth Brooks enjoyed one of the most successful careers in popular music history. I believe that today Taylor Swift is the most successful. Overall I think that in the next decade their will be diffrent singers that will be more successful. It seemed to work like that in the past.

GLOBAL WARMING

Global Warming has become a major cause of concern. It will definitely affect our society in the future The greenhouse effect is unquestionably real and helps to regulate the temperature of our planet. It is essential for life on Earth and is one of Earth's natural processes. It is the result of heat absorption by certain gases in the atmosphere (called greenhouse gases because they effectively 'trap' heat in the lower atmosphere) and re-radiation downward of some of that heat. Water vapor is the most abundant greenhouse gas, followed by carbon dioxide and other trace gases. Without a natural greenhouse effect, the temperature of the Earth would be about zero degrees F (-18°C) instead of its present 57°F (14°C). So, the concern is not with the fact that we have a greenhouse effect, but whether human activities are leading to an enhancement of the greenhouse effect by the emission of greenhouse gases through fossil fuel combustion and deforestation.

Global surface temperatures have increased about 0.74°C (plus or minus 0.18°C) since the late-19th century, and the linear trend for the past 50 years of 0.13°C (plus or minus 0.03°C) per decade is nearly twice that for the past 100 years. The warming has not been globally uniform. Some areas (including parts of the southeastern U.S. and parts of the North Atlantic) have, in fact, cooled slightly over the last century. The recent warmth has been greatest over North America and Eurasia between 40 and 70°N. Lastly, seven of the eight warmest years on record have occurred since 2001 and the 10 warmest years have all occurred since 1995. Overall I believe this is very inportant in order to protect our enviornment.

recent review of pho hoang in austin tx:In a nutshell: A mediocore Restraunt, Not the best, but ok!I love the pho here & I used to come all the time when I ate more meat. However, I think Sunflower on 183 has even better pho and a much more diverse menu if you like Vietnamese food. Additionally, since turning to a vegetarian diet, the choices here are extremely limited, as is the menu in general. Yes, yes, the broth is amazing, but the service is less than desirable. When I ordered my most recent lunch (veggie pho) and went for pick-up, I found out that the broth is actually meat based even in this dish. When I made mention that this fact had not been brought to my attention when I ordered, and that perhaps they should tell other vegetarian customers before they order things they can't eat, I got this response: "Oh, you should try #38 (as far as I can tell the only veggie item on the menu) next time". (Yes, yes, I've had your tofu vermicelli my last 4 visits- I was hoping to sample something else!) Now, really, is one good broth worth all that?

How do we use technology?

We use technology many ways. Whether it be cell phones, Computers, Internet, etc. Almost everyone has used technology in their life. That can not be said 10 years ago. There are diffrent age groups being Teens take most advantage of technology today. I believe in the next 10-15 years it is still going to be the same way teens and young adults are going to use technology the most while a small percentage of Adults use technology.
